Jordan Poole’s tenure with the Golden State Warriors didn’t exactly end well.
Right after GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. stated that they wanted him to stay there for the long run, they shockingly traded him to the Washington Wizards.
Shortly after, multiple reports of immature behavior, antics, and tantrums surfaced, and while several of his former teammates vouched for him and his character, his reputation still took a big hit.
That’s why it’s so nice to know that he’s embraced a leadership role within the Wizards organization, hosting a summer workout camp with some of his teammates, Kyle Kuzma included (via Hoop District and NBACentral).

Poole reportedly stated that he knows that it takes chemistry to build a championship-caliber team, adding that the players need to know who their teammates are as people.
Needless to say, it’s going to take a lot for the Wizards to even sniff championship contention, but that’s exactly what you want to hear from your franchise player, especially after all he went through recently.
Poole was lucky enough to be drafted by a top-notch organization, and he has the responsibility to take what he learned from his days in the Bay Area to try and lead by example on his new team.
There’s no denying that he has the offensive skills and potential to be a perennial All-Star and even a scoring champion, and it’ll be up to him to make the most of this fresh start and prove that the Warriors made a mistake by giving up on him.
