In what ended up being a thrilling game, the Denver Broncos managed to pick up their first win of the 2023 NFL season with a victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 4.

The Broncos looked like they were well on their way to their fourth consecutive loss early in the game as they allowed Justin Fields to carve up their defense through the air.

Denver’s defense has been a disappointment all year and their struggles continued as they failed to slow down Fields and his receiving corps.

However, the team found it within themselves to come back in the second half as Russell Wilson was able to lead the offense down and put them in positions to score.

Wilson completed 21 of his 28 pass attempts for 233 yards and three touchdowns, an efficient performance from the quarterback.

Despite leading the comeback, though, James Jones isn’t sold on Wilson yet via Speak.

“Russell Wilson hasn’t silenced the critics,” Jones said.

Jones immediately points out that Wilson as a starter last season was 4-11 and that despite picking up a win is on track to finish with a similar record.

The former player also argues that the bar is set so low for Wilson right now and that if he were to shut his doubters up he would need to play like the former MVP candidate he used to be with the Seattle Seahawks.

While the Broncos will certainly relish a win after such a poor start to the year, the reality is that Wilson needs to be better sooner rather than later if they want to salvage this season.
