The Houston Rockets went through some major changes this offseason, obviously starting with hiring Ime Udoka.
They also spent plenty of money to get Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks, and while it became obvious that both of them would start, there were some doubts regarding Kevin Porter Jr.’s role.
Needless to say, that’s no longer an issue, as the Rockets have shut the door on his return in the wake of his domestic assault accusations, and he’s not going to be a part of the team going forward.
With that in mind, Rockets reporter Kelly Iko took to Twitter to share a clip of the Rockets’ new backcourt, showing VanVleet and Jalen Green hooping together.

The Rockets also have first-round rookie Amen Thompson as another guard off the bench, and he’s expected to be thrown into the mix right away.
Shortage of talent has never been an issue for the Rockets, as they acquired multiple first-round caliber players and made the most of the James Harden trade.
Alperen Sengun, Jabari Smith Jr., Tari Eason, and Cam Whitmore could all have a bright future in the league, and they will now have a coach who will hold them accountable and teach them how to play the right way.
Of course, it might take a while before we see them compete at the highest level, and they’ll have to add more pieces along the way.
But it’s an exciting time to be a Rockets fan, and it’s been a while since we could say that.
