The New York Giants have been struggling to start the season.

They’ve been dominated in their first two home games this season by a total score of 64-3.

Just like their 40-0 Week 1 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, their Week 4 Monday Night Football defeat against the Seattle Seahawks was humiliating.

The offensive line failed to protect quarterback Daniel Jones, leading to 11 Seahawks sacks.

Then there’s Jones, who had a pick-six interception and a lost fumble in another poor performance.

Perhaps general manager Joe Schoen is already working to find their next quarterback.

FS1’s Nick Wright believes that is the case in New York as he pointed out.

“Next year, Daniel Jones is $47M on the cap. … The Giants are watching Colorado, Washington, North Carolina — you’re not bad enough to get Caleb — you’re watching college QBs already,” Wright shared with Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes in a recent episode of First Things First.

The Giants thought Jones would improve in his second year under Daboll.

Sadly, he is regressing.

He already has four fumbles, and it’s not even halfway through the 2023 regular season.

Unfortunately, moving away from Jones’ four-year, $160 million contract extension won’t be easy.

They could cut him next year and absorb $69 million in dead money.

Even if they let him stay until 2024, they will still absorb a $22 million dead cap.
