The Los Angeles Clippers are about to start the new season which means fans of the team are hopeful but nervous once again.

They are hopeful because LA has an impressive roster, and has for several years.

But they are nervous because the team seems to consistently disappoint because of injuries.

Former NBA champion Nick Young believes this could finally be the Clippers’ year.

On Twitter, Young posted: “Clippers should have a chip already but 2024 might be the yr if healthy….. my lakers need a big splash now …”

Young actually played for both the Clippers (briefly) and the Lakers, so he knows a bit about both teams.

One can understand why he feels that 2023-24 could be the season that finally sees the Clippers move far through the postseason.

Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are healthy again and the team has a bunch of other strong supporting players, such as Russell Westbrook, Ivica Zubac, Mason Plumlee, Bones Hyland, and others.

Westbrook is of particular interest to fans because he really stepped up last postseason when the team lost both Leonard and George again.

When you simply look at this team’s lineup on paper, there is every reason to believe they could be true competitors in the West.

But no one can ignore the bad luck the Clippers have had when it comes to injuries.

There have been multiple times when either Leonard, George, or both of them have missed games.

As great as these two stars are, they just aren’t that reliable.

If the team can stay completely healthy, any NBA fan would agree that they might be one of the best teams in their conference.

Sadly, that is a very big “if” for the Clippers.
