It’s going to take some getting used to seeing Chris Paul as a member of the Golden State Warriors when the 2023-24 NBA season tips off.

Paul has been chasing after a championship for years now and this feels like his best chance to get one as Golden State is projected to be a contender this year.

The Warriors decided to gamble on Paul when they traded away Jordan Poole, betting that the veteran could be a more useful asset come playoff time.

Paul has only been to the NBA Finals once, but he’s got enough postseason experience that makes him feel like a reliable option assuming he’s able to stay healthy.

The future Hall of Famer has the luxury of not having to dominate the basketball so much in Golden State which should go a long way in preserving him throughout the season.

However, even in the twilight of his career Paul was able to show the fans that he’s still got some bounce left in him via C.J. Holmes of San Francisco Chronicle.

Paul can be seen taking a lob for a dunk that he’s just able to get to go in.

While it wasn’t a powerful finish, it’s beyond impressive that Paul can even get that high still given his age and injury history.

There’s probably zero chance that Paul will show off his dunking skills in an actual game this year, but it’s a good reminder that NBA athletes are just built differently.

Fortunately for the Warriors, they won’t be counting on Paul for any high-flying acts and instead will be leaning on his basketball IQ and savviness.
