The Los Angeles Lakers are hard at work at their practice court, preparing for the long season ahead and hoping to build upon the success they found last spring.
There are many fan favorites coming back – as well as a few new faces.
Lakers big man Anthony Davis had high praise for one of his new teammates and a returning one too.
Speaking to Michael Corvo, via ClutchPoints, Davis gave a shout-out to rookie Jalen Hood-Schifino and Austin Reaves.
“Jalen can really play,” Davis told the press after Friday’s practice session.
He then added that Reaves “had a hell of a day today. I don’t think he missed a shot…besides the one I contested.”

There have been other reports of Hood-Schifino standing out during these practices and scrimmage games.
Darvin Ham, D’Angelo Russell, and others are impressed by the incoming rookie.
He was the 17th pick in June’s draft and people weren’t sure what his role on the team would be.
The roster is already incredibly stacked with multiple big names vying for time – would there be any left for Hood-Schifino?
Maybe not, at least not at first, but he is obviously making an impact on his fellow teammates.
The 20-year-old rookie probably won’t have a huge presence on the team during his first season, but he could put together an impressive track record on the court, especially if he continues to impress other Lakers stars.
As for Reaves, few people are surprised to hear he is doing well.
The young man had a breakout year last season and then performed incredibly well during the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Apparently, the World Cup didn’t tire him out too much and it sounds like he is ready to burst back into the regular season.
