The Golden State Warriors were at a crossroads regarding the future of the franchise.

They had the option of either committing to the trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green or simply trusting in the future with the likes of Jordan Poole, James Wiseman, and Jonathan Kuminga.

It’s obvious that the Warriors chose to stay with the current core of the team, with the exception of keeping Kuminga on the roster.

Kuminga could have a breakout year in the upcoming season, and he showed signs of it during the Warriors’ first preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 21-year-old shared his reaction to having a good stat line via Anthony Slater on Twitter.

“That’s something I’ve been working on. If I don’t do it in practice, they stop practice. I’m not great at it yet, but I’m working on it,” Kuminga said.

Eight rebounds for Jonathan Kuminga tonight: “That’s something I’ve been working on. If I don’t do it in practice, they stop practice. I’m not great at it yet, but I’m working on it…Crashing every single time. Not standing, not watching.”

Kuminga put up 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 24 minutes of playing time.

Kuminga’s impressive stat line helped the Warriors in registering a 125-108 victory over the Lakers.

Just like many fans around the globe, Kuminga was most impressed with his rebounding numbers.

But that didn’t happen overnight as the Warriors’ young stud explained how he has practiced rebounding in training sessions.

With the 2023-24 NBA season beginning soon, Kuminga could impress head coach Steve Kerr over the next few preseason games.

However, making it into the starting lineup won’t be an easy task for him.
