The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors engaged for the first time this season in a preseason matchup.
It was never a close competition, as the Warriors registered an easy 125-108 victory against the Lakers.
While it was a team effort, the star of the show was Jonathan Kuminga, who scored 24 points in 24 minutes of action.
Head coach Steve Kerr was thoroughly impressed with his team’s performance, but he was focused on something entirely different, as revealed via Warriors on NBCS on Twitter.

Kerr wanted to get the press conference over as soon as possible.
Kerr revealed that he wanted to watch the football game between the Arizona Wildcats and USC Trojans.
At the time of the interview, Arizona was apparently defeating USC, but the end result was something entirely different.
The Wildcats suffered a 41-43 defeat against the Trojans.
Fortunately, the end result for Kerr’s Warriors was in their favor.
Sure, it was only a preseason game, but the Warriors got somewhat of a revenge.
After all, the Lakers eliminated the Warriors in six games during the Western Conference Semifinals in the 2023 playoffs.
It’s always good to start off the season with a win, albeit during the preseason.
Now, the question remains whether the Warriors can continue these winning ways into the season.
Can the core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, alongside the likes of Chris Paul and Andrew Wiggins lead the Warriors to an NBA Championship?
