Luka Doncic turned the Dallas Mavericks into must-watch television, even for non-NBA fans all over the world.
The Slovenian star was already a bit of an icon in Europe, yet some scouts doubted he’d ever be as good as he is nowadays.
Needless to say, they couldn’t have been more wrong about him and his potential, as it didn’t take long before he proved to be a unique kind of talent.
Now, the young star heads back home for a preseason game vs. Real Madrid, the team where he burst onto the world scene as one of the most promising prospects on Earth.
That’s why they honored him with a ‘Welcome to Madrid’ trophy ahead of the Mavericks’ preseason game vs. Real Madrid.

Doncic was Real Madrid’s go-to guy despite his youth, leading them to a EuroLeague title in 2018, all while also being named tournament MVP.
He was the youngest player to ever debut for their senior team, taking the floor at the tender age of 16.
Luka Doncic is once again helping break the stereotype of the European star who will struggle to dominate in the U.S.
He’s admitted that it’s actually way easier to score in the NBA, and he’s been one of the best players in the world when he suits up for the Slovenian national team as well.
The Mavs paired him with Kyrie Irving and put together an impressive roster around him, and they should be one of the strongest dark horses to come out of the Western Conference.
