In the social media era, it doesn’t take much to become the brunt of a joke in the NBA, even if it is a short clip of a star player struggling to speak another language, like Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors recently did.
Presumably, Green was shooting a promo in Chinese during the Warriors’ Media Day recently, and now the footage, even though incredibly short, has been released with fans already taking aim at the four-time NBA champion.
Honestly, it doesn’t seem all that bad, especially since the clip is only two seconds with no context whatsoever, but it doesn’t matter, as the trolls were out in force via Warriors Muse and NBA Central.

Here are some fan reactions to the Warriors star forward trying to learn how to speak Chinese:
The meme potential in this is scary.

He’d speak it fluently by now if Curry wasn’t keeping him employed

If the Warriors and or Green struggle during the 2023-24 NBA season, this video clip will be seen time and time again, as fans will be relentless in their efforts to make fun of the veteran forward.
Fortunately for Green, he can dodge the shots fired his way for now, as he is nursing his ankle injury back to health and is expected to keep him sidelined for at least the majority of the NBA preseason.
In the meantime, the Warriors will try to figure things out in his absence while trying to get veteran newcomer Chris Paul up to speed and comfortable playing in Steve Kerr’s system.
The Warriors are coming off a win over the visiting Los Angeles Lakers and will play their next preseason game against the Kings a week from today on Oct. 15.
