What the Denver Broncos were hoping would be a season of redemption has so far turned into another season of frustration.
They’re 1-4 so far in 2023, with their lone win coming by just three points against the woeful Chicago Bears, and while quarterback Russell Wilson has been playing better this year, their defense has been horrible.
Through five games, Denver is last in points and total yards allowed, and they have given up over 30 points in three of their last four games.
Things will not get any easier for them, as they will face the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champs, twice in the next three weeks.
Pass rusher Frank Clark, one of their key defenders, will not suit up versus Patrick Mahomes and company on Thursday due to an illness, per Ian Rapoport.

Clark was signed away from the Chiefs this offseason, and in his four seasons with the Chiefs, he won two Super Bowls while making the Pro Bowl three times.
He has played in just two games so far this season and has registered only two tackles.
While the Broncos have been struggling again, Kansas City’s 4-1 record may be a bit deceiving, as they do not have a legitimately reliable threat at the wide receiver position.
Their leader in receiving yards at that position is Justin Watson, who is at just 219 yards through five games.
Getting a win versus the world champs would be an outstanding way for the Broncos to finally get back on track and give themselves some confidence and good vibes.
