The Miami Heat have knocked on the door of an NBA championship way too many times already.
Against all odds, and despite not having a top roster in the Eastern Conference by any means, Erik Spoelstra’s team has reached at least the Conference Finals in three of the past four seasons, getting two tickets to the biggest stage.
Last season, the Heat proved that their trip to the NBA Finals in the bubble wasn’t a fluke, but they ended up empty-handed again.
That’s why Jimmy Butler wanted to put the league on notice and let everybody know that they’re going to get the job done once and for all next season (via Sports Illustrated and ClutchPoints).
“We’re gonna suit that sh*t up in October. And I’m gonna whoop all y’all a*s. Again.”

Butler has always had the utmost confidence in his game and his teammates, so there’s absolutely nothing surprising to see him making such a bold claim despite not having played a single game this season.
He’s delivered every promise he’s made since arriving in South Beach — except those two times where he’s said he’s going to win the championship.
The Heat lost two key rotation pieces, Gabe Vincent and Max Strus, in the offseason, and they failed to acquire Damian Lillard.
They’re more undermanned ahead of the upcoming campaign, at least when it comes to talent, and going the distance again will be a bit of an uphill battle.
But we’ve seen them do this over and over with undrafted and rather unknown players, and it’s hard to put your money against them at this point.
