The Dallas Cowboys are gearing up for their second-straight primetime game.

They played the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football in Week 5, and this week, they have the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.

While this is an important matchup for both teams, it carries an additional storyline of a former coach.

Kellen Moore left the Cowboys for the Chargers in the offseason, taking a job as their offensive coordinator.

Several Cowboys have commented on facing their former coach, including safety, Jayron Kearse.

According to Kearse’s comments on the team website via Around the NFL, Kearse said, “I’m pretty sure he wants to go out there and put it on us.”

The Chargers have benefitted from Moore’s leadership thus far.

They are currently the seventh-best offense in terms of points per game, one spot above the Cowboys.

Justin Herbert has learned a lot from Moore, a reason for his continued success this year.

Despite the Cowboys’ strong defense, this could turn into a high-scoring affair.

As Kearse also said of Moore and the Chargers, “I’m pretty sure he’s champing at it, but we’re champing at it as well.”

An emotionally-charged contest, it seems, if Kearse’s comments are a true indication of what his teammates are also feeling.

The Cowboys are in desperate need of a win after their blowout loss to the 49ers last week.

A loss against the Chargers would bring them down to .500, hurting their standings in the division.

Can they bounce back against Moore and the Chargers’ high-flying offense?
