The annual survey of NBA general managers was released the other day and fans are still digging into every detail.
When asked which team would win the championship in 2023-24, GMs felt that the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, and Milwaukee Bucks have the best chance.
Speaking on “First Things First,” Nick Wright discussed how both the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers didn’t receive any votes in that poll.
Wright was surprised to see the Lakers get snubbed because he believes they are “a champion contender” but he doesn’t think the Warriors are.
“The Lakers are a champion contender, and I don’t think the Warriors are quite to that level.”

Many people are wondering who will have the best season this year: the Warriors or the Lakers.
Conventional wisdom might suggest the Warriors will be superior because of their recent history, including the fact that they won the Finals just a couple of seasons ago.
But Wright argues the Lakers are better and they proved that last season when they beat the Warriors in the second round of the playoffs.
He suggested that the Warriors were actually only able to get to that point because of a “Herculean” effort from Stephen Curry in the first round against the Sacramento Kings.
For those reasons, Wright believes that the Lakers could come out on top this season while the Warriors will not.
The truth is that both of these teams will have a lot of competition in the upcoming season.
There are many strong Western Conference teams vying to be the best of the best, including the reigning champion Denver Nuggets.
It will be fascinating to see which of these teams surpasses the other but they will both have their hands full with some tough rivals.
