Brock Purdy has begun the 2023 NFL season similarly to how he closed out 2022.
He has led the San Francisco 49ers to five consecutive wins, causing many to include him in the MVP conversation.
While Purdy has gained favor in the eyes of many around the league, he isn’t beloved by everyone.
On Craig Carton’s latest show, Plaxico Burress said that he would much rather have Tua Tagovailoa as his quarterback.
“Give me Tua any day of the week,” Burress said, adding: “He’s having a better season than Brock Purdy right now.”
Better QB: Tua or Brock Purdy?

On this show, the statistics of both quarterbacks were compared by Carton and his crew.
Tagovailoa has thrown for nearly 400 more yards than Purdy on the season, but this is the only statistical category he is significantly better in.
Purdy has a better completion percentage and a better touchdown-interception ratio.
While Burress talked about Tagovailoa as significantly better than Purdy, their team outputs have been similar through five games.
The 49ers are 5-0, while the Miami Dolphins are 4-1.
Both quarterbacks have played well for their respective teams, and it appears they are each in the MVP conversation.
Purdy was an unlikely member of that group when the season began, but he has continued to shine.
Tagovailoa had high expectations to start the season, and it appears he has done more than prove to be up to the challenge.
How will each quarterback finish out the year?
And, will either one of them end the season as the league MVP or Super Bowl champion?
