At one point in time, Chase Claypool was thought to be one of the most promising young wide receivers in the NFL with a bright future ahead, especially if he was able to make it work with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who selected him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Steelers had that much faith in Claypool that they risked a second-round pick on him, hoping he’d be the next great receiver for the franchise.
Unfortunately, the team never saw eye-to-eye with the outspoken receiver and traded him to the Chicago Bears, where the situation got even worse as he became frustrated with his role on a team seemingly going nowhere.
At only 25 years old, Claypool has been traded yet again, and this time to a team that flourishes in the passing game with Tua Tagovailoa under center and star wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle downfield.
The Miami Dolphins chose to take a chance on him, but that might have been a mistake as it seems like more of the same from the talented but troublesome wideout, which ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith points out.

If he can put his ego aside and focus on the team in Miami, the Dolphins might’ve found a gem and another solid threat downfield to go along with Hill and Waddle, which could pay off for many years to come.
However, if it goes the other direction, it could mean that Claypool might not have much longer to go in the NFL, as teams will likely not be willing to give him another shot, so there’s a lot on the line for him moving forward.
