The Atlanta Hawks have knocked on the door of playoff contention for quite a while now.
They’ve alternated good seasons with disappointing campaigns, and most of the blame has often fallen on Trae Young’s shoulders.
It seems like they could use another bona fide bucket-getter to take some steam off Young, someone like Joe Johnson.
Johnson was in attendance to watch his former team take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the preseason, and the fans made sure to give him his flowers as one of the best players in franchise history.

Often criminally underrated, Iso Joe was one of the most entertaining scorers in the league.
He didn’t always play for winning teams, but he was the kind of player who could always get you a bucket, regardless of the rival, who was guarding him, and the moment in the game.
As a matter of fact, he was the kind of hot-hand guy who would save the best for the clutch, knocking down huge shot after huge shot in his career.
Of course, he’s not at an age in which he could just lace them up and give you 10-15 minutes off the bench at the NBA level, but he could still give most of today’s players a couple of buckets.
Johnson thrived in Ice Cube’s Big3 tournament after leaving the NBA and even made a brief comeback, which speaks volumes about his offensive and shot-making skills.
Younger fans may not remember him, but Iso Joe was a special scorer in his prime.
