Analyst Speaks On Chiefs’ Chances This Season

After falling in their Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions, the Kansas City Chiefs have now won five straight games, and they have the best record in the AFC at 5-1.

However, the Chiefs don’t appear to be as dominant and explosive as they have been in the last few seasons, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

On Thursday, Kansas City was able to get a win over the Denver Broncos, but the Chiefs only managed to score 19 points against a Broncos defense that has allowed a league-worst 33.3 points per game to their opponents this year.

On Friday, FS1’s David Jacoby raised some questions about the current version of the Chiefs.

“Is this the Super Bowl champs? Is this the MVP? It looks like Patrick Mahomes just has Travis Kelce.”

As it was mentioned in the beginning, Kansas City does currently have the best record in the AFC at 5-1.

However, their last four wins have come over the Broncos, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and Chicago Bears.

These four teams are a combined 5-16 this season, so it’s not like the Chiefs have been going up the best of the best so far this year.

We should be able to figure out how talented this season’s version of the Chiefs are during the next few weeks with three of their next four games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and Philadelphia Eagles.

If Kansas City is able to still keep ahold of the AFC’s best record after this upcoming four-game stretch, then the doubts will likely slip away.

But until then, people are going to continue to question whether or not the Chiefs currently have what it takes to become the first NFL team to repeat as Super Bowl champions since 2004.
