The Los Angeles Lakers may have advanced until the Western Conference Finals in the 2023 playoffs, but no one expected them to reach that far in the postseason.

After all, the Lakers started the regular season with a 2-10 record and were one of the worst teams in the league.

But they made a couple of key trades around the mid-season mark and somehow managed to qualify for the 2023 playoffs as the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

However, when the Lakers were struggling to win games, team owner Jeanie Buss revealed, via Legion Hoops on Twitter, she had received death threats from the fanbase.

The Lakers arguably have one of the most devoted fanbases in the league.

But they have a tendency to get too emotional at times and insult the core members of the franchise.

As for the 2023-24 season, the Lakers have made a plethora of improvements to the roster over the summer.

Evidently, the Purple and Gold are expected to get a much better start to the new season.

The likes of Caleb Martin, Christian Wood, and Cam Reddish are expected to take the Lakers to another level.

Moreover, the team also re-signed Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura in the summer.

With the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis being the leaders of the team, the Lakers are expected to not only make the playoffs but also be one of the favorites to win it all.
