Trae Young has remained the best player on the Atlanta Hawks roster over the last few years.

When it comes to Young’s skill set, his biggest weapon is his insane scoring ability.

But an underrated part of Young’s game is his off-ball moment.

In fact, NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor recently shared his views on Young’s off-ball moment via his official Twitter handle.

“I love seeing Trae Young used as an off-ball weapon,” O’Connor said.

I love seeing Trae Young used as an off-ball weapon.

Moments like this are encouraging from the Hawks half court offense. For years, I’ve said embracing off-ball movement is the key for Trae to unlock his best version. pic.twitter.com/vO4JMwwO4V

Young was heavily praised by O’Connor, who loved that the Hawks’ offensive coaching staff went out of their way to include this strategy for their cornerstone player.

The veteran NBA analyst believes Young can unlock the best version of himself if he continues to improve as an off-ball player.

After all, it adds another layer of offense to Young’s already big bag of skills.

Ultimately, the key to improving his game relies on being consistent with these new moves.

Young averaged 26.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game in the 2022-23 season for the Hawks.

Moreover, he played in 73 out of the possible 82 games for the franchise.

Considering Young is a sturdy player and only seems to be getting better with each season, the sky is the limit for the 25-year-old guard.

Young’s biggest achievement of his career so far has been leading the Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2021 playoffs.

Outside of that, his time with the Hawks has been a tad bit lackluster.

Perhaps the former fifth-overall pick can finally lead the Hawks to new heights in the 2023-24 season with his newly achieved skills.
