The Los Angeles Lakers made some interesting moves in the offseason.
They locked in their young players for the future and added several reinforcements at key positions as well.
And while there aren’t any big names on the team besides LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and arguably Austin Reaves, we’re talking about a team that made it to the Western Conference Finals last season.
That’s why it was kind of shocking to see that they didn’t get a single vote as championship contenders in the league’s latest GM poll.
Even Skip Bayless was shocked about that, but that didn’t stop him from taking yet another one of his countless unanswered shots at LeBron James.
I still can’t believe the Lakers got zero votes as a championship contender in the annual GM poll. But I definitely can believe LeBron got zero votes in the category of which player you’d want with the ball in hands with the game on the line.

Truth be told, on paper, the Lakers roster isn’t all that impressive, at least from a personnel or man-to-man perspective.
But this roster played very well together and even had the second-best record in the league after the trade deadline.
On top of that, despite the sweep, they were close in all four games vs. the Denver Nuggets.
They may not be at the top of the contender’s list, but it wouldn’t have been shocking to see Darvin Ham’s team putting together another deep postseason run, contrary to what Skip Bayless or the GMs might think.
