Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks is now 33 years old and about to embark on perhaps the biggest chapter of his career.
Last season, he produced a jaw-dropping stat line of 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.
And he envisions himself playing like this for a very long time.
Speaking to Chris Mannix, Lillard guaranteed that he will remain in his prime for years.
“I’ve shown no signs of slowing down…I’m going to be 38, moving the same way I move right now. I promise you. And shooting, that doesn’t go away,” Lillard said, via NBACentral.

The idea of a 38-year-old Lillard still putting up more than 30 points a night sounds like a dream come true for many NBA fans.
It is quite remarkable to witness him somehow get better with age.
His 32.2 points last season were a career high and he nearly matched another career high in rebounds.
Although Lillard says he is not slowing down, he has encountered a few more injuries than usual during the last several seasons.
He only played in 29 games in the 2021-22 season, for example.
But Lillard looked great last year and only sat out of the last several games because the team asked him to in order to have a higher chance of getting a good draft pick.
Lillard wants to play well and he comes to the Bucks with some of the best numbers of his career.
However, 38 is very different from 33, especially for an NBA player.
So although he has every intention of playing this well for years to come, Lillard should instead just focus on performing to the best of his ability for 2023-24 and not worry about what will come after.
