Few superstars in the NBA have been more heavily criticized for their off-the-floor antics over the past year or so than Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Even though Morant is one of the most promising young players in the league with a team that could do something special in the years to come, he has really struggled to maintain his image as an upstanding citizen when he’s off the basketball court.
Along with getting a bad reputation for his life outside of basketball and those he hangs out with, Morant has jeopardized his long-term career with things that he has done and not learned from.
Fortunately, the last incident with a gun was met with a swift punishment by the NBA, as he was slapped with a 25-game suspension to start the 2023-24 NBA season.
That suspension has kept him in line during the NBA offseason, and by all accounts, he’s been able to turn things around, but now a new report has surfaced that his father, Tee Morant, might be the root cause for these off-the-floor issues, which Morant reacted to on Twitter on Wednesday.

Obviously, if Morant’s father is the problem, the problem is much bigger than expected, as Tee Morant seems to be incredibly influential to what his son does and is almost always seen courtside cheering him on.
Hopefully, for Ja’s sake, this turns out to be a false report, as it’s incredibly hard for anyone to turn away family, especially as a professional athlete who is likely taking care of his family.
