The Philadelphia 76ers continue to deal with a very toxic situation ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season, as superstar guard James Harden has been adamant about the team trading him to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Even though the 76ers have reportedly engaged with the Clippers multiple times on a trade involving Harden, nothing has come to fruition, with Los Angeles unwilling to budge in terms of what the team is willing to send back to Philadelphia.
This has caused Harden to become quite a problem for the franchise as he has publicly bashed Daryl Morey for being a “liar” and has now made things complicated by not showing up to practice without consent from the team.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the 76ers may be getting desperate in their attempts to trade Harden, as they have dropped their asking price, which continues to get denied by the Clippers, via The Rally.
“James Harden has clearly lost patience with the organization. The Sixers now, I’m told, want Terance Mann, one unprotected first-round pick and one pick swap. The Clippers are not willing..”

At this point, it appears there’s no end in sight for Philadelphia and their disgruntled superstar, with the Clippers simply unwilling to give up a lot of value for a team that has no other choice but to make a deal with them.
With Harden’s behavior likely scaring off any other interested teams, the 76ers may eventually have to bend to the will of the Clippers front office and take whatever they are willing to trade.
As for Los Angeles, there is no sense of urgency, as they could wait this out unless another team comes calling.
