For a brief moment, it seemed like James Harden was going to commit to playing with the Philadelphia 76ers again.
It was a very, very brief moment.
After a false start at the beginning of training camp, Harden is again away from the Sixers.
He is obviously adamant about moving to a different team.
Brian Windhorst spoke with “First Take” and said he doesn’t expect the ten-time All-Star to ever return.
“I now am back to believing we will never see [Harden] in red, white and blue again,” Windhorst admitted.

Windhorst said that, like many others, he was tricked into thinking that Harden was changing his tune about the team.
His first practice session with Philadelphia revealed a Harden who was in shape and working well with others.
At the time, some speculated that this was his attempt to make peace with the front office.
Perhaps he hoped that trade negotiations between the Sixers and Los Angeles Clippers would recommence if he showed up.
But that didn’t happen and a few days later Harden was nowhere to be found.
With the regular season starting in only a few days, Harden is far from the team and not looking to change that.
Head coach Nick Nurse and the rest of the team are definitely moving forward assuming they will be without one of their most important stars.
If Harden doesn’t start playing nice and keeps sitting out, the NBA will get involved as he will be in a breach of contract.
That means that this entire ugly situation will get even uglier.
Windhorst and others held out hope for Harden to re-evaluate the situation and change his mind.
But no one is holding out hope any longer.
