After yet another rough start to their season this year, which included losses in three of their first four games, the Cincinnati Bengals seem to have rediscovered their groove as they’ve improved their record to 3-3 after getting wins in each of their last two matchups.
Slow starts have been common for the Bengals during their last few seasons, and the team is hoping that they are able to keep up with the pace they have set in their last two games.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky recently shared what he would like to see from Cincinnati during the next few weeks, via “Get Up.”
“[The Bengals] have a bye this week, then they play San Francisco and Buffalo. If they find a way to win those two, this team is going to be in the playoffs, and they’re going to be a problem for everyone who gets there. If they don’t [beat the 49ers and Bills], then I think it’s a long road to try and get [to the playoffs].”

Orlovsky is right in that the next two games on Cincinnati’s schedule should reveal a lot about the capabilities of their team this season.
The matchup against the 49ers in Week 8 will likely be the toughest of the two, especially since it will be on the road, but helping the Bengals out is the fact that they will have an extra week to prepare for the game since they have a bye this week.
Then, in Week 9, Cincinnati will host a Buffalo Bills team that is 4-2 after their first six games this year, but they’ve also shown that they are far from an unbeatable team.
If they get through this two-game stretch with a pair of wins, then the Bengals are likely going to return to being viewed as one of the top contenders in the AFC this season.
Cincinnati’s next two games are definitely tough; no one is arguing against that, but they are also two games that the Bengals could win.
