The New Orleans Saints were supposed to run away with the NFC South division this year.
Their team was back to full strength, their offense had some playmakers like Cam Jordan and Tyrann Mathieu, and they would get a big boost at QB with Derek Carr.
It’s been seven weeks, and the 3-4 Saints have been predictable and boring to watch more often than not.
Their defense has responded and has been better than average, as expected, but the offense has yet to fire on all cylinders.
Following their loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Allen admitted that they were too ‘inconsistent’, although he did see some positive things and praised them for responding in the second half, according to John Hendrix of Saints News.
Dennis Allen says there’s some things he saw in the game that was good to see.
“I thought our offense responded in the second half.”
Said the team is too inconsistent.

Pete Carmichael’s offense has been stagnant; it has lacked imagination.
They have solid weapons like Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, Foster Moreau, Alvin Kamara, and Jamaal Williams, yet they can’t seem to come up with anything to make the most of their talent.
Carr has failed to live up to the expectations, as even though he was never a top-tier quarterback, he always posted solid numbers with the Las Vegas Raiders, and that hasn’t been the case thus far.
Still, it’s hard to put the blame on the players when the play-calling and schemes don’t seem to favor them.
Carr was a big upgrade over Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, and Taysom Hill, so perhaps it’s not a personnel issue, and the front office might need to make a decision regarding the coaching staff.
