After winning 13 games in 2022, expectations were high for the Minnesota Vikings heading to the 2023 season.
Success hasn’t continued into the current season, however, as the Vikings are sitting with a disappointing 2-4 record after the first six games on their 2023 schedule.
Due to their struggles, some have wondered if Minnesota will end up as sellers prior to the NFL’s trade deadline on October 31.
Among the players the Vikings could potentially move on from before this season’s deadline is Pro Bowl pass rusher Danielle Hunter.
Hunter is currently in the final year of his contract with Minnesota, and there is no guarantee that he will be returning to the Vikings after the 2023 season.
Teams are aware of this, and according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday, the Vikings have recently received calls from multiple teams about the availability of Hunter in a trade before this year’s deadline.
Teams have been calling the Vikings about potentially trading for Danielle Hunter, per @RapSheet

Hunter has had a very successful career in the NFL since he first entered the league in 2015.
But his performance has seemed to reach an even higher level this season in Brian Flores’ first year as Minnesota’s defensive coordinator.
Hunter has excelled in Flores’ aggressive system, and it’s resulted in the pass rusher accumulating an impressive eight sacks in his first six games, which is the most in the NFL heading into Week 7.
No one knows what the Vikings would like to do with Hunter after the 2023 season, but if they are looking to move on from him, it might be better to get something in return for the pass rusher in a trade this year instead of letting him walk for nothing in 2024.
