With the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching, the New York Giants could have some tough decisions to make on their roster if they lose in Week 7.
The Giants are currently last in the NFC East and will miss the playoffs barring a miraculous win streak.
New York’s defense has been able to hold its own, but the offense has been a major letdown as they’ve dealt with numerous injuries to the offensive line and some of their skill players.
The offensive line shuffling made it hard for Daniel Jones to find time in the pocket to throw, but the quarterback himself is also on the shelf after suffering a neck injury.
Saquon Barkley’s multi-week absence also put the Giants in a hole as they had no running game without him available.
Barkley is a prime trade candidate given his talent, but it appears that New York is intent on keeping him via Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Barkley has been adamant that he’d like to stay with the Giants despite their struggles and it looks like he’ll get his wish as the organization is reportedly interested in re-signing him in the offseason.
The two sides were unable to come to an agreement on an extension this past free agency period, and Barkley wound up settling for a one-year deal worth up to $11 million.
The running back market cratered as teams decided against trying to pay the position group, so it’ll be interesting to see how negotiations go this time around.
