LeBron James has been at the top — or near it — of the NBA for 21 seasons, and he’s — literally — the only player who could say that.

Of course, players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Kobe Bryant, and even Vince Carter also had long careers, but none of them were able to put up the same MVP-caliber numbers every single year, even after their so-called physical prime.

That’s one of the reasons why plenty of people believe James is the greatest player of all time, and that includes Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Recently, the Greek Freak told Joe Vardon of The Athletic that he believes James is the best to ever do it, also praising his durability and the fact that he’s still going strong (via NBACentral).

Needless to say, the fans had plenty to say about that, with some agreeing with him, and others not so happy about his comments.

Nothing great about 4-6

“He’s still going” gets so overlooked. Dude is still building a resume at age 38 in year 21 lol crazy.

The never-ending GOAT debate is often futile or talking-head fuel.

It’s hard to compare players from different eras who played under a different set of rules and against different competition.

Most of it is wishful thinking and hypotheticals.

But if there were one true NBA GOAT, it would be hard to rule LeBron James out.

He has the résumé and the numbers to back up that claim, even if you could also make a case for some other players that came before him, and that’s the beauty of this game.
