Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets had his biggest season yet last year.
Not only did he create a jaw-dropping stat line once again, but he also earned his first championship and was named Finals MVP too.
Throughout it all, people said Jokic rarely seemed emotionally invested in the game.
Because of his demeanor and some comments he made, fans and analysts have said that he doesn’t seem to care too much about the game.
But a new video released by the Nuggets on Twitter proves that’s not the case.
In the video, Jokic said: “Basketball means everything in my life. Joy, sad – all kind of emotions I have in basketball.”
It’s everything.
We asked the guys what the game means to them.

A recurring joke throughout the NBA is that Jokic is more interested in his summer vacations than the regular season.
At the conclusion of the Finals, Jokic lamented the fact that he’d have to remain in Denver for a few days longer to attend the team’s victory parade.
Of course, comments like that from Jokic should be taken with a grain of salt.
He obviously loves the game because he keeps playing it and it has brought so much to his life.
He wouldn’t have the ability to fly back home in the summer if it weren’t for his basketball career.
Jokic will never be the sort of player to make loud, grand public statements.
He is always going to be a reserved, quiet, and inward star, but he does love the game and he wants to be the best at it.
After last season, no one can deny that he’s easily one of the best basketball players alive and one of the greatest to ever play.
