The Minnesota Vikings pulled out an unlikely win over the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football.
They were significant underdogs heading into this game, but they were able to persevere and come away with the victory.
Many aspects of this game were applauded by the play-by-play commentators and analysts, including Dan Orlovsky.
Orlovsky had nothing but positive comments for Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell, calling this game a “masterclass.”

Masterclass @Vikings
Coaches should study how he built plays last night start to finish. Fantastic

Orlovsky was so complementary of O’Connell’s playcalling that he said other coaches should follow in his footsteps.
For an analyst like Orlovsky who is known to be overly critical but fair in his analysis, this is high praise for the Vikings head coach.
O’Connell is a member of the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree, one of his many protegees who has a head coaching gig in the NFL.
He has continued to grow and develop as a coach, and this unsuspected win over the 49ers is his latest accomplishment.
While this was a convincing win, the Vikings have a lot of work to do.
At 3-4, they face an uphill climb if they want to make the playoffs.
However, their next several opponents are significantly less daunting.
If they can head into the rest of the season with the confidence they displayed on Monday Night Football, the Vikings should have a chance to beat any opponent the rest of the way.
O’Connell can use this success to his advantage, game-planning similarly for the rest of the year.
