The Philadelphia Phillies were hoping Game 6 would have been the end of the NLCS.
Only needing one win at home, the Phillies could taste the World Series.
But, instead of coming out and earning the right to win the NL Pennant, they played a bad game.
Arizona jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning and never looked back.
The Phillies sent Aaron Nola to the mound for the crucial game and he did not pitch well.
Nola only lasted 4.1 innings while giving up six hits and four earned runs.
But, the larger issue was that the Phillies could not generate runs.
They were held to one run on six hits.
The first three batters in the Phillies lineup all went hitless.
Due to the crushing Game 6 loss, there will now be a decisive Game 7 in Philadelphia.
This will be a first for everyone in the City of Brotherly Love.
According to ESPN, the Phillies will play in a Game 7 for the first time in franchise history.

It is hard to believe but it is true.
The Phillies are hoping to make their first Game 7 a successful one.
A Game 7 in baseball is unlike any other game.
Everyone is available to play, as it is all hands on deck.
Even starting pitchers who have thrown in recent days will be available to go in a Game 7.
It is a pitch-by-pitch game as every at-bat means so much.
With the Phillies playing at home, they have to like their chances.
But, you never know how a team or certain players may react to playing in a Game 7.
