After tearing his Achilles in Week 1, it’s been an odd season for New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as he’s been a spectator more than anything else this year.
Not being able to currently play also means that Rodgers has time to do things like join Peyton and Eli Manning on the Manningcast and continue his weekly appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show”.
The Jets quarterback joined McAfee on his daily show on Tuesday, and during their conversation, Rodgers shared how enjoys watching a specific signal-caller who plays for a team that is currently in first place in the AFC North.
“I mean, I’ve always been a fan of [Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson] since he was in college [at Lousiville]… The guy’s won MVP. Sometimes we forget about who Lamar Jackson is. He’s a hell of a player.”

Through the first seven weeks of the 2023 season, Lamar Jackson has helped lead the Baltimore Ravens to a 5-2 record, and if the playoffs started today, they would be the No. 3 seed in the AFC.
If he continues to perform at a high level and helps lead the Ravens to earning one of the top two spots in the AFC postseason bracket, then he could potentially win the second NFL MVP award of his pro career.
Unless they meet in the playoffs, Rodgers and the Jets will not be facing Baltimore and their All-Pro quarterback this season, as the Ravens are not one of the teams remaining on New York’s 2023 schedule.
Currently with a 3-3 record, the Jets are coming off of a bye this week, and their next matchup has them taking on a 2-5 New York Giants team inside MetLife Stadium on Sunday, October 29.
In another game without Rodgers on the field, will New York end up improving their record to 4-3 this week, or will the Giants hand them their fourth loss of the season?
