LeBron James Reacts After Playing Limited Minutes

Father Time is undefeated against NBA competition, and not even LeBron James will be able to win that battle.

James is entering his 21st season playing at the highest level.

And judging by what we saw in the Los Angeles Lakers’ season-opening loss to the Denver Nuggets, he’s as sharp and efficient as per usual.

Nonetheless, it seems like we won’t see him on the court as often as we’ve seen him throughout the course of his career.

He only played 29 minutes in the blowout, and coach Darvin Ham confirmed that he’s most likely going to limit him to 28-30 minutes this season.

When asked about it, James stated that he obviously wants to be on the floor every minute, and it seems like he took a slight shot at Ham for not keeping him in there when he felt like he could make an impact (via NBA Central and Daniel Starkand).

“I mean, I always want to be on the floor, especially when you have an opportunity to win a game and you feel you can make an impact. But I guess there’s a system in place and I’ll follow it.”

Nonetheless, James also confirmed that he was going to abide by the team’s plans.

LeBron currently holds the 15th-highest minutes-per-game average in NBA history, all while having played the tenth-most games ever.

He made it to the NBA Finals eight years in a row, and he’s soon to turn 39, so it only makes sense that his team wants to keep him fresh and ready for when it matters the most.

It’ll now be up to his supporting cast to pick up the slack, as the team cannot bank all their stock on a player entering his 21st season to do everything.
