The Phoenix Suns got their first win of the season, but not everything went well for Frank Vogel’s team.
According to a report by NBA reporter Marc Stein (via NBACentral), the league is investigating the Suns for tampering with free agent F/C Drew Eubanks.

Eubanks signed a two-year deal worth $5 million in early July, following a solid season with the Portland Trail Blazers.
However, he’s not exactly the kind of big-name player one would typically hear about when talking about tampering.
Even so, with the Suns desperately craving rotation players who were willing to take a major pay cut due to their salary cap limitations, they may have engaged in illegal actions to acquire certain players, Eubanks included.
The team eventually managed to make the numbers work by moving Deandre Ayton and acquiring multiple rotation pieces, but that didn’t happen until later in the offseason.
In the meantime, the Suns were rushing to add role players to their roster to complement their superstars in Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.
Luckily for the Suns, the punishment for their alleged tampering is not likely to be overly steep.
Typically, teams have been stripped of second-round picks, which can potentially be recouped through the trade market.
At any rate, the Suns seem more concerned about winning an NBA championship this year than who they will select in the upcoming draft and likely aren’t too concerned with the pending allegations.
