New York Knicks fans are as loyal to their team as they can be ruthless to other teams.
They’ll stay with you through thick and thin and uplift you if you give your best, but they can also hate on you as soon as you switch sides.
Notably, Kristaps Porzingis found that out the hard way.
The former lottery pick headed back to Madison Square Garden, this time with the Boston Celtics, and he turned back the clock with a remarkable performance.
That’s why those who once used to cheer him, root for him, and chant MVP for him, started cursing him late in the game.
When asked about that, Porzingis told Tim Bontemps of ESPN that it was actually kind of fun and he used that as fuel and motivation to finish the job.
Kristaps Porzingis on the “F– Porzingis chants” late: “The crowd chanting that for me, it was fun. I was just enjoying that and kind of using that as motivation, motivation to make some big plays at the end.
“It was really, really fun to play in that type of environment.”

Porzingis finished the night with 30 points, eight rebounds, four blocks, and five three-pointers on 53.3% shooting, helping the Celtics hold on for a four-point road win in their season opener.
He couldn’t have asked for a better debut with the team that gave up a lot to get him in the offseason, as it was also a big reminder to the Knicks organization of the guy they gave up on.
Porzingis was supposed to be the face of the franchise before being shockingly traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
And while he never took another leap and became the superstar some thought he’d be, Knicks fans will always have a bittersweet taste in their mouths when it comes to him.
