Heading into Week 8 of the 2023 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills are currently sitting in second place in the AFC East with a 4-3 record.
Buffalo began 2023 with wins in three of their first four games, including a 28-point win over the Miami Dolphins, but they’ve now suffered losses in two of their last three matchups, and some doubts are starting to arise.
Despite their struggles during the last few weeks, former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald recently shared that he believes Buffalo is still the team to beat in their division this season, via SiriusXM NFL Radio.
“You look at [Buffalo’s] offense, their defense, their special teams unit, I think they still have the best overall team [in the AFC East].”

After their first seven games, the Bills currently rank third in the NFL in points scored per offensive drive and seventh in the league in points allowed per opposing offensive drive.
So this is what Fitzgerald is referring to when he describes Buffalo as a better overall team than the Dolphins, New York Jets, and New England Patriots at this point in the 2023 season.
The Bills have recently dealt with some significant injuries to their roster, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but as long as they still have Josh Allen starting under center, they’re going to have a chance to win every game they play this season.
Buffalo will attempt to improve their record to 5-3 on Thursday night when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With the Bucs losing three of their last four games, the Bills should have a good chance to add another victory to their 2023 total when they take the field in front of their home crowd.
