The Phoenix Suns headed into the 2023-24 NBA season having made some pretty drastic changes to their team, from bringing in Frank Vogel as Monty Williams’ successor to adding Bradley Beal into the mix alongside Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
Unfortunately, during the team’s season opener against the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco at the Chase Center, Beal was unable to make his Suns debut due to a back issue.
Fortunately for Phoenix, the team didn’t need Beal on the floor in order to take care of Stephen Curry and company, as they were able to come out with the win on the road.
However, heading into Thursday’s game at Crypto.com Arena against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Suns will be without two of their stars, with Beal still tending the back injury and Booker now dealing with a foot issue, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

This is a surprising development as it seemed that Beal was on pace to make his Suns debut against the Lakers, and Booker was coming off an impressive performance, dropping a game-high 32 points against the Warriors in the Bay Area.
Even though this is disappointing news for Phoenix’s new Big 3, especially in Vogel’s first official game against his former team since they fired him, the Lakers’ chances of bouncing back from their season-opening loss to the Denver Nuggets have improved drastically.
The Lakers didn’t stand much of a chance against the defending NBA champions on Tuesday and are hoping to bounce back quickly with a win over the division-rival Suns in the team’s home opener in downtown Los Angeles.
