On Thursday night, one of the most anticipated matchups in the NBA will see Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns heading to the City of Angels to take on LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.
Outside of the recent preseason game between the Lakers and Suns, Durant and James haven’t gone head-to-head on the basketball floor in a game that actually means something in a very long time, which makes tonight’s game must-see TV for avid basketball fans.
Ahead of the divisional clash with the Lakers on Thursday night, Durant talked about getting to face James again for the first time in a long time, and he’s clearly looking forward to the challenge of taking on the four-time NBA champion.
Interestingly enough, Durant went as far as to call James “arguably the best ever” in this short promo video ahead of Thursday’s game in Los Angeles, via NBACentral.

Unfortunately for Durant, he’ll be without Suns newcomer Bradley Beal and fellow superstar Devin Booker for tonight’s game against the Lakers, as both players are dealing with injuries to start the season.
Beal missed the team’s season opener against the Golden State Warriors due to a back issue and still hasn’t been cleared in order to make his Suns debut on Thursday.
As for Booker, the perennial All-Star reportedly has a sore foot after dropping a game-high 32 points in the win over the Warriors on Tuesday night in San Francisco.
That said, the Suns will lean heavily on Durant on Thursday in order to get the win over James and company in Los Angeles.
