The 2023-24 NBA regular season will officially get underway for the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday when the team starts their two-game road trip against the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum.

Despite being in trade talks for months with the Los Angeles Clippers, no deal has come to fruition involving superstar guard James Harden, which has led to an awkward situation in Philadelphia that seems to have no end in sight.

Not only did the 76ers tell Harden to stay in Philadelphia rather than come on the team’s two-game road trip to start the season, but the Clippers have put trade talks on pause, which means this ugly situation could go on and on.

Hall of Famer Kevin Durant argues on “KG Certified” that reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid should be the most upset about the current situation in Philadelphia with Harden because Daryl Morey could’ve taken care of this months ago, via Showtime Basketball.

The Sixers situation with Harden continues to look messy.

What do you think Embiid should do with all of this?

Garnett does have a point when saying that Embiid should be “livid” about the current state of the team and the Harden situation not being resolved, but the former NBA star has never been a general manager in the league before and has no idea what the job entails.

The 76ers have been negotiating with one team during the process because no other team in the league wants anything to do with Harden, who has quit on every team he’s been on in the NBA outside of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

That makes this situation that much more difficult because the other team has the leverage, and that could mean that Morey loses his job if it all goes wrong.
