The Buffalo Bills couldn’t afford another setback, and they needed Josh Allen to be at his best when they hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a Thursday night matchup.

Allen was a little banged up entering the game, being listed with a right shoulder injury.

That’s why it was such a big concern when he had to be tested mid-game for that very same injury, and he was later spotted testing his arm on the sidelines.

Even so, the Wyoming product wound up playing all the snaps on offense, and he let it be known that it’s going to take a whole lot of pain to get him off the field.

Following the win, he told Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network that he’s going to be sore but fine, also pointing out the fact that he’s going to have some extra time to rest and heal after playing on a Thursday.

With Josh Allen for @NFLGameDay Final on @nflnetwork after the #Bills’ win over the #Buccaneers: “It’s gonna take a lot for me not to play. I’m going to be a little sore for a couple of days. … I’m glad it’s a Thursday night game. We’ll have some time to rest.” pic.twitter.com/hpiT9d7dRz

Allen was solid against a very good defense, completing 31 of 40 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, adding seven carries for 41 yards and an additional score.

He now has the second-most rushing touchdowns by a QB (43), tying Steve Young, and trailing only Cam Newton (75).

The Bills will now get 10 days to rest and regroup.

They’ll need that, as their next game will be a crucial AFC showdown against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

This team will only go as far as their leader can take them, so props to Allen for playing through this and getting the job done.
