The Milwaukee Bucks escaped with a one-point win in in their season opener.
They were favored by 5.5 points at most sportsbooks, and they led by as many as 19 points at one point in the first half.
But Nick Nurse’s Philadelphia 76ers refused to give up and cave in, constantly fighting their way back into the game, and with some big contributions from role players like Kelly Oubre Jr.
That’s why Skip Bayless made the most of the chance to take a big shot at James Harden, who didn’t play in the game, as he continues to work his situation out with the team.
Following the game, Bayless took to Twitter to praise Damian Lillard for his solid debut, and then also lauded the Sixers for putting up that big fight without Harden.
Great debut by Damian Lillard. Great fight by the Sixers without HIM.

The Sixers dominated the first six minutes of the fourth quarter, even going up by 10 before the Bucks rallied all the way back.
Tyrese Maxey was aggressive as both a ball-handler and a cutter, knocking down some big shots when his team needed a bucket.
Joel Embiid got off to a slow start but picked things up in the second half, and even Tobias Harris was aggressive, physical, and efficient.
Daryl Morey set his team up for failure by not trading Harden in the offseason, as he’s not going to get any decent value in return now.
The Sixers could barely do anything in the summer, and that’s going to come back to haunt them at some point, and it’ll be Morey’s fault.
