The Los Angeles Lakers bounced back after losing their season opener in a 100-95 win against the Phoenix Suns.

Following their win against a fellow Western Conference contender, the Lakers are now 1-1 for the 2023-24 season.

The close win was spearheaded by the dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis as they finished with 21 and 30 points, respectively.

James definitely enjoyed the victory as he went off script after the win to defend Davis against the criticism following his disappointing second-half performance in the season opener.

Skip Bayless was overall impressed with James’ performance, but he had a strong reaction to the Lakers superstar’s NSFW language on live TV (via Undisputed).

“LeBron went out of his way to curse twice on national TV, and he’s the smoothest operator. He knows what he’s doing,” Bayless said.

James mentioned that Davis and the Lakers were unfazed by the heavy criticism that the 30-year-old received after the loss against the Denver Nuggets.

In fact, James pointed out that his teammate doesn’t even use social media.

As for Bayless, he believes it wasn’t a slip-up by James.

Instead, he planned to cuss.

Well, Bayless’ deduction certainly holds some credibility since James is always calculated about his words on national TV.

Moreover, if it were a slip-up, the 38-year-old would have followed it up with an apology.

Instead of apologizing, James cursed once again after a couple of lines.

Fans loved this new, unfiltered version of LeBron James.

While Davis had a great game against the Suns, Laker Nation will hope he can maintain it over the next few games.

The 17-time NBA champions are scheduled to play against the Sacramento Kings this Sunday.

Only time will tell if Davis can consistently bring his A-game to the table.
