The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night, winning their first official game of the Giannis Antetokounmpo-Damian Lillard era.
The two players meshed very well and Jay Williams took note of that.
“In one game, Giannis and Dame are more compatible and have less redundancy than the seven-year career of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum,” Williams said on Friday morning’s episode of “Get Up.”
“The pieces work,” he stated.

Antetokounmpo had 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists in the big game, while Lillard was incredible with 39 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Together, they formed a very cohesive unit that performed in tandem and became an offensive powerhouse.
While there was definitely room for improvement, and consistency will be key, Williams and many others liked what they saw.
Antetokounmpo and the Bucks now have more options for scoring because of what Lillard brings to the table.
Is it a bit premature to consider this duo better than Tatum and Brown with the Celtics?
Maybe, but these two certainly showed a lot of compatibility and tons of promise.
Now they just have to keep it up because Tatum and Brown have been one of the best pairings in the league for several years and won’t go down without a tough fight.
When Lillard was signed by the Bucks, it was clear that this would be one of the greatest teams in the East.
It was also clear that the Boston Celtics would be their biggest rival.
Now the season has started, and the pairs leading these two teams will have to play incredibly well all year long to see who can come out on top.
