NBA Hall of Famer Geroge Gervin spent many years in the league, including multiple seasons with the San Antonio Spurs.
He is quite elated to see the potential of the team’s new star, Victor Wembanyama.
Gervin was on SiriusXM NBA Radio and said that Wembanyama is gaining the ability to think and play at the same time.
Gervin is suggesting that Wembanyama take his time and not rush into anything on the court.
“You’re 7’5”, you can just take your time…and take advantage of whoever is guarding you,” Gervin said.

Ever since he was drafted, people have said that Wembanyama’s size is one of his biggest assets.
But it’s not just because he has an easier chance at scoring.
Wembanyama’s height also allows him to move at his own pace without a need to rush.
Because of how big he is, he can set the tempo, and his team – and opponents – will have to adjust.
There are very few people in the league who will be able to successfully guard Wembanyama because he towers over all of them.
Best of all, Wembanyama is still very young and learning how to master his body and his style more and more.
He is just days into his NBA career and has years to develop and get even better.
Wembanyama should definitely listen to Gervin because the latter was an All-Star 12 times and scoring champion four times during his 14 years in the league.
The young rookie is certainly going to rely on the advice and guidance of icons like Gervin and others as he pushes into his NBA future.
