The Texas Rangers had a project in place.

They signed multiple impact players in the last two offseasons, including Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, Jon Gray, Jacob deGrom, Andrew Heaney, Nate Eovaldi, and many more.

They needed a winning manager, though.

That man was Bruce Bochy.

After going 68-94 in 2022, the Rangers made the postseason and were very close to winning the AL West with a 90-72 record under Bochy.

Things didn’t end there, though.

As the underdogs in the Wild Card series against Tampa Bay, Texas swept and advanced to the Division Series vs. the Baltimore Orioles.

They swept that one, too.

The Houston Astros were a challenge, but they defeated them, 4-3, in the AL Championship Series.

Now, they are up 2-1 in the Fall Classic against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and it’s in large part thanks to Bochy.

“‘Bochy has been there, done that.’ @Ken_Rosenthal says you ‘would never know’ Bruce Bochy is under pressure, even as the World Series moves into Game 4,” Foul Territory tweeted.

Bochy not only has been here before, but he knows everything about winning and losing a World Series.

His 1998 loss when he managed the San Diego Padres helped him learn and become a better skipper.

Then, from 2010 to 2014, he won not one, not two, but three World Series with the San Francisco Giants.

He always seems calm and composed, even in adversity, and that gives his players peace of mind to approach even the worst circumstances.

That’s the confidence of someone who knows what he is doing.

The Rangers are benefiting from Bochy’s overall baseball knowledge and composure and are two wins from reaching the ultimate goal.
