On Monday night, the Dallas Mavericks brought their record to 3-0 after beating the Memphis Grizzlies, 125-110.
It was another impressive showing from the Mavericks and it featured them limiting one of the most energetic young teams in the league.
After the game, Luka Doncic talked about a huge addition to the team: Grant Williams.
“I think the best improvement is having Grant on the team,” Doncic said, according to a video shared by Landon Thomas.
After saying that Williams has strong communication skills, Doncic added, “He can guard one through five, anybody, so he’s our leader on defense, and we follow him on defense.”
Luka Dončić says Grant Williams’ defense and communication is the difference maker for the team after 3-0 start.

During Monday’s game, Williams posted 15 points and 3 rebounds.
Those numbers don’t tell the full story, however.
For the last several seasons, Williams has been known as one of the most dogged and determined defenders in the league, sizing up against any sort of opponent, no matter their size, ability, or experience.
That is why many Mavericks fans were elated to see him move from the Boston Celtics to their team.
So far this year, he’s posted 12.3 points and 5 rebounds per game with Dallas.
He has been a crucial part of the team’s three wins against the San Antonio Spurs, Brooklyn Nets, and Memphis Grizzlies.
Defense has been a weak point for the Mavericks in the past, so the addition of Williams and all that he does is welcomed.
He has easily fit in with his new teammates and has brought a lot to the team.
Next up for the Mavericks are the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, followed by the Denver Nuggets on Friday.
