After months of wondering when it would happen, the Los Angeles Clippers finally took the plunge and traded for James Harden.
The Clippers sent out several players and multiple draft picks to the Philadelphia 76ers and now have their “Big 3” of Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Harden.
Harden had been away from the 76ers as he looked to get traded and the former MVP got his wish and landed with his preferred team.
Los Angeles has a back-to-back set of games against the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers, and there’s a shot that Harden could play against the Lakers.
The Clippers under Steve Ballmer have been all-in on winning a championship, and their trade of Harden signals they’re still intent on going for it.
However, Nick Wright isn’t sold on Harden being their missing piece, via “First Things First.”
“The Clippers, to me, are in denial on where they are. … James Harden is going to do what he’s done everywhere he’s ever gone — be great for the opening month or two, get upset & disengaged & be awful in the playoffs,” Wright said.

Harden has built a reputation for flaming out in the playoffs and that is the reason why his market was so quiet over the summer.
Not only that, but the team trading for him would have to presumably re-sign him to a new deal and that could age poorly given Harden’s decline on the court.
For now, it remains to be seen how Harden’s addition will boost the Clippers’ chances but he at least gives them a legitimate playmaker who can space the floor for the two stars.
